India/Pakistan Nuclear Testing
Pakistan and India were both in the same continent until they grew apart because of unfairness rules. Ever since they split apart, they tested a total of twelve nuclear weapons. Both claimed that they were to use the weapons for power and fear reasons, but they still could do a lot of damage. Pakistan started the nuclear testing by testing seven nuclear bombs. In response to this, the indians tested a total of five bombs. According to India, they tested all these bombs for fear for other countries, not for payback. Others are thinking different. They think that India is going to make a nuclear run and use it for attacks and future wars. On the other hand, India’s prime minister made this statement,” Nuclear weapons today are an integral part of our nation security and will remain so.” This indicates that they are for the treaties and conventions, but don’t theoretically follow it. this incident violated the “NPT”. The NPT treaty is a treaty that takes the power out of counties for having nuclear weapons. The only people that are aloud to have nuclear weapons is the United Nations Security council. If the United Nations could take the power of them having these weapons, then this wouldn’t have happened in the first place. India was supporting the UN with the treaties. But they used it and disobeyed the law.
