The importance of treaties
People that want to use weapons of mass destruction thinks that these treaties and conventions should not be used. They believe that if the treaty is not working out and everybody can easily make weapons of mass destruction, then what’s the point of having treaties and conventions. People against treaties want to use these weapons for fear and power. A lot of people are making weapons, and they are getting away with it. These treaties and conventions need to be improved because a lot of people would still be living and it would be a more peaceful world. Some countries are already not involved with this. China for example. “The basic spirit of the Convention on the Prohibition of Biological Weapons conforms to China's consistent position and is conducive to the efforts of the world's peace-loving countries and peoples in fighting against aggression and maintaining world peace.” This statement came from China and it proves that they are one of the innocent countries. If Weapons of Mass Destruction were completely banned, then the world would have more people living . One single nuclear weapons can kill about hundreds of thousand of people. That is exactly what happened to Hiroshima. The Hiroshima bombing killed about over a thousand people and whoever survived, probably had to get medical treatment. SInce the Nuclear bomb is so destructive, the bombs probably destroyed the hospitals and the survivors couldn’t get help. Biological weapons are bad too because they spread and infect other people. What if thirty people got Small Pox and each of them spread it to five friends. That would be one hundred and fifty people with the pox and if it was a more serious disease, most or all of them would die. Although China and other countries are inicent, what proves that they are not going to use or possess WMD in the future. Those three incidents are examples of terrorist or countries breaking the treaties and conventions. Although a lot of people are getting away with it, these treaties and conventions need to be improved.
